GLUEMAX Tension Puller - 36"
The DENTFIX GLUEMAX Tension Puller 36" (DF-GMTP36) is a lateral tension tool for glue pull repair on long creases, body lines, and large collision damage. It relieves lateral tension in the panel so long creases pull evenly while preserving OEM finishes. A hand knob gives fine tension control, and the kit includes Straight and Offset Legs plus 8 GLUEMAX Tension Tabs.
Description
Relieve the Tension. Release the Crease.
A full-length lateral tension bar for long creases and large damage. Set it, tension it, and let the metal move.
Long creases fight back. Pull on the low alone and the tension locked in the surrounding metal resists every move. The GLUEMAX Tension Puller 36" takes that tension out of the equation. Glue a Tension Tab at each end of the damage, seat the feet, and turn the knob to spread the panel. With the tension relieved, the crease pulls evenly and the metal goes where you want it.
The 36" bar spans long creases, quarter panels, and large collision damage in a single setup. Its drive mechanism is fully enclosed inside the bar, protected from glue, dust, and shop debris. The hand knob puts tension control right at your fingertips, so you adjust by feel in small, precise steps.
Two leg sets come in the kit. Use the Straight Legs for focused tension, or switch to the Offset Legs for a wider spread across the panel. Quick-change pins let you swap legs by hand in seconds.
Pair it with the GLUEMAX Mini Dent Lifter (DF-GM600SP) or the GLUEMAX Spring-Loaded Mini Slide Hammer (DF-GMSH) to pull the lows while tension is held.
Application
The GLUEMAX Tension Puller 36" is ideal for:
- Long creases and body line damage
- Large collision damage on doors, quarter panels, and bed sides
- Relieving lateral tension before and during glue pulls
- Repairs where preserving the OEM finish matters
It’s built for collision repair shops and PDR technicians.
Features & Benefits
Relieves Lateral Tension
Spreads the panel to relieve built-up tension, so long creases pull evenly instead of fighting back.
Hand Knob Control
Turn by hand to set tension in small, precise steps. You get fine control by feel at every stage of the repair.
Enclosed Drive Mechanism
The drive is housed inside the bar, protected from glue, dust, and shop debris.
Two Leg Sets Included
Straight Legs give focused tension on creases. Offset Legs angle the feet outward for a wider spread across the panel.
Quick-Change Pins
Swap legs by hand in seconds, with no tools needed.
GLUEMAX Tension Tabs
Four Square and four Long Tension Tabs come in the kit. The feet grip each tab’s raised spine for a secure hold under tension.
Works with the GLUEMAX System
Hold tension while pulling lows with the GLUEMAX Mini Dent Lifter or Mini Slide Hammer, and blend highs with the Dent Fix Blending Hammer 4 PC Set (DF-BHSET).
Preserves OEM Finishes
Glue pull repair with lateral tension keeps the factory finish intact.

Operation
- Prepare the surface. Clean each tab location and tab face with 99% isopropyl alcohol. Glue bonds best on a panel between 75 and 90°F.
- Glue and place the Tension Tabs. Glue a tab on solid metal at each end of the damage, in line with the crease, and let it cool to between 75 and 90°F.
- Set the bar and apply tension. Seat each foot onto its tab’s spine, then turn the knob in small increments until the crease begins to relax. Pull lows and blend highs while tension is held.
- Release and clean up. Turn the knob back to fully release tension, free the tabs with isopropyl alcohol, and remove leftover glue.
Always wear safety glasses, and keep your face out of line with the bar under tension. See the Operating Manual (PDF) for full instructions..
FAQ
What does a lateral tension tool do?
It spreads the panel on either side of the damage to relieve built-up tension. With that tension relieved, long creases and body lines pull more evenly during glue pull repair.
When should I use the 36" instead of the 18"?
Use the 36" for long creases, quarter panels, and large collision damage that need a full-length span. The 18" model (DF-GMTP18) fits shorter creases and tighter areas.
What’s the difference between the Straight and Offset Legs?
Straight Legs place the feet directly under the bar ends for focused tension. Offset Legs angle the feet outward to widen the spread across the panel. Quick-change pins let you swap them by hand.
