Our customers are extremely valuable to us and as such the following is just a basic policy. Common sense and customer satisfaction determine most warranty situations. Sometimes a tool can be repaired in the field, thereby reducing turn around time and freight costs. Please call our repair department before returning.

A product is considered new if it is in re-sellable condition. Re-sellable means that you are willing to take the tool back as new if we repair and re-package the tool for you. We will not add it back to our stock. A credit will be issued to your account for Ground UPS freight if we determine the product is a New Tool Warranty. We will not re-imburse for expedited freight. All new products will be repaired or replaced and returned to you via regular UPS freight pre-paid. Expedited return shipments are sent freight collect. Whether to repair or replace is at our sole discretion.

A product is considered used when it has been used for more than 1 week and is no longer re-sellable. All used product warranty claims are to be returned to Dent Fix freight pre-paid. All used product will be repaired or replaced and returned to you via regular UPS freight pre-paid. Expedited return shipments are sent freight collect. Whether to repair or replace is at our sole discretion.

All our air tools carry a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Customer abuse, such as a lack of proper maintenance, and the damage caused therein is not covered under warranty.

Any item that by its nature or design that wears, gets used up or is permanently changed by its usage is considered a consumable item. Drill bits are a consumable item and as such carry no warranties expressed or implied. There are several procedures the user can implement in order to extend drill bit life, but ultimately the drill bit will break or dull. It is up to the technician to ensure proper usage.

An item that is new defective must not be used for more than 1 week and must be in re-sellable condition.
If a defective product is replaced with an item from your stock, you will receive the repaired and repackaged item to return to your shelf. If a component of a product is defective please return only that item.
Whether to repair or replace an item returned to us is at our sole discretion.
Consumable items are non-returnable.
Items that do not appear on our most recent price sheet are non-returnable.
Some times a new defective product is easily fixed in the field. If this is an option call us for expedited parts.
Use your original purchase order number as your return authorization.

Drill bits are a consumable item and as such carry no warranties expressed or implied. There are several procedures the user can implement in order to extend drill bit life, but ultimately the drill bit will break or dull. It is up to the technician to ensure proper usage.

Proper use of the DF-15 and DF-15B spot weld drill to maximize drill life:

In order to help prevent accidental breakage of a drill bit, specifically the centering point, always start the drill with the bit against the car body. This can be accomplished by placing the two prongs on either side of the bit against the panel. When the trigger is pulled the drill comes back into your hand and the C-clamp takes the impact not the bit. Practicing this also helps ensure that stress is not placed on one side or flute of the bit. The bit is forced to start flat against the car body.

Setting the correct drilling depth is also recommended. Drilling through both panels into free space causes a momentary shift in your hand when the drill breaks free. This puts undue lateral pressure on the drill bit and can lead to breakage along the flute line.

Heat is the largest factor in dulling of bits. If your drill bit is blued at the cutting edge then it has been exposed to excessive heating. The cutting chips actually take heat away from the drill point. This means that when the drill bit has stopped cutting any deeper take your finger of the trigger. Having the drill point just turning against a panel and not cutting causes a heat build up that can dull the bit within a spot weld or two. The Titanium coating helps prevent this but only to a point. Cutting fluid can help, but is not necessary for satisfactory drill life.

Boron or Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) is impossible to cut through with a normal HSCo bit. The only solution for this type of steel is the DF-1690 Boron Killer bit. The above procedures must be precisely followed with this extremely tough yet brittle Tungsten Carbide specialty bit.
